Kindergarten
Sarah Cherney grew up in a suburb outside of Los Angeles, moved up to the Bay Area to attend undergrad and never looked back. She earned her B.A. in Sociology with a minor in Education from UC Berkeley and a M.A. in Teaching from The University of the Pacific. In her almost ten years as an educator, she has had the privilege of working in some of the finest schools in the Bay Area, including Head-Royce School, The Hamlin School, and her most recent position at The San Francisco School. With experience in teaching various K-5 grades, she has been able to hone her teaching philosophy and practice. Her priorities as an educator is to ensure students feel a sense of community, autonomy, curiosity, inclusivity and individual expression. Outside of school, Sarah rock climbs, plays guitar and makes art. She cannot wait to experience The Academy!
